HATI PADI COTTAGES

This lovely property is meant for travellers who are looking for a more rustic, remote experience.

When booking hotels for our trip to Bali, I was most excited about our stay at Hati Padi. For starters, the pictures of the property were absolutely stunning. Second, the price was spectacular! We paid $40 USD per night for this property, which was the cheapest option we had booked during our trip. So, we were really excited to see what this hotel was like first hand.
With the price being so low, we definitely weren’t expecting a five star property. However, we did expect this property to be amazing for it’s value and turns out - it was.

Hati Padi is located pretty far from Ubud, about 30 minutes away. It’s located within a small village that owns and runs Hati Padi. So, we found this aspect of the hotel to be pretty special.
“This property was unique to to the fact that it was 100% owned and run by the people that live in the village. We found the people here to be so genuine and warm.”

The villas on the property were once home that have been renovated and turned into the villas that now make up Hadi Pati. There is a lovely pool in the middle of the property which overlooks a lush rice terrace. Every morning while we enjoyed our coffees we were able to see people go out into the rice terrace and start their day of work.
The decor here is all locally made, Balinese style decor. There are tons of bright colors and unique pieces of art around this property, which I absolutely loved.

There is a tiny restaurant on site that serves all meals; however at this property breakfast was not included. We decided to have breakfast here, quite frankly because there is nowhere else to eat for several miles. I had a freshly made smoothie and some eggs & toast; and it was delicious and reasonably priced.
The value for this property was amazing, and it exceeded any expectations I had for $40 USD. However, I will say that there were some things lacking that I think you should take note of before booking this hotel. The rooms had a gap between the walls and the ceiling; so the villas are not completely sealed from the outside world. The bathroom was outdoors and was spacious and gorgeously decorated; however our villa was located right next to the restaurant with gaps in the wood panels on the walls; and I could hear people right next to me in the restaurant and they could hear me in the bathroom as well. Not ideal.

Overall, I would recommend this property to someone looking for a rustice, more natural and budget friendly accommodation.
