While all-inclusive turned out to not be our style, this hotel offered a good value during our trip.

When booking a trip to Mexico we had so many friends and family recommend staying at an all-inclusive hotel. My partner and I had never stayed anywhere like that before, and we thought it might be something cool to try. We weren’t sure if it was something we would be in to, so we decided only to try it for part of our trip, 4 nights.

I want to start off by saying that unfortunately, all inclusive was not our cup-of-tea. While this resort offered tons of included restaurants, room service, and unlimited alcohol, we really missed exploring locally run restaurants and felt isolated staying in one place. With that being said, if all-inclusive is in fact your style and you enjoy the beauty of having everything centrally located, than the Platinum Yucatan Princess is the hotel for you.

For starters, our hotel room was comfortable and spotless, and featured both a two person shower as well as a tub right next to the bed. We also had a patio that led directly to the pool, so we could jump right in. There were four restaurants on site as well as a buffet, and all meals were included, including room service. All of the food was decent, nothing to write home about. The best place to eat on site was the hibachi restaurant since everything was cooked fresh right in front of us.

For breakfast we took advantage of the room service most days. Per the unlimited alcohol, we don’t drink that much, so we didn’t try too many things but we did enjoy some lovely frozen cocktails at the swim up pool bar. There was an awesome spa area and we used the hot tub, steam room and sauna one afternoon when it was cloudy.

All in all, this was a lovely hotel, but it just wasn’t our style. However, if you are looking for a one-stop-shop of relaxation and unlimited drinks, this is your go-to.
