Waiheke Island doesn’t have many hotels, so your best option is a B&B or one of the boutique properties.

Waiheke Island has a lot of year-round residents and also a ton of part-time residents that own summer homes there. It’s not an over-developed island driven by tourism which is awesome but it also means that there are limited options for where to stay. We opted for an AirBnB since it matched out budget and had a hot tub, however we found some other places that would be great to stay at as well. In general, accommodation on Waiheke Island is pretty inflated. I have included options for every budget, however all of these are relatively more expensive than they would be if they were on the mainland of NZ.

If you are really looking for the lowest cost option that is still offers nice rooms, then this is the place you should book. It’s a nice hostel and you can get a private double room for $60 USD per night.

We wanted to stay at this property when we visited, however it was booked up since we planned this trip last minute. This unique property is comprised of airstreams which have been converted into little hotel rooms for guests. Bathrooms are shared, however you are in a nice location for walking to vineyards and not too far of a trek to the beach. While we were here this property was $95 USD per night.

This little property features lovely rooms in a nice location. Waiheke Island is a bit expensive, so this is one of the lowest cost options of places to stay with an ensuite restroom. While we were here a room at Waiheke Island Motel was $120 USD per night.

If you are looking to really treat yourself to some refined luxuries, then this is the place for you. With stunning views of vineyards and the water, this property will make you feel like you are in heaven. With only four rooms on the property, it’s a very exclusive place to stay. While we were here rooms were $437 USD per night.
