HOW TO GET TO NUSA LEMBONGAN & NUSA CENINGAN

If you are exploring all that Bali has to offer, you must venture to these gorgeous islands.

Nusa Lembongan & Nusa Ceningan are only a 30 minute boat ride from Bali, but once you get there you feel worlds away. While Bali has tons of beautiful beaches, in my opinion none of them compare to the powder white sand and crystal clear blue waters of Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan. You also cannot compete with the world class dive sites that are located off of these islands, one of which is Manta Point and was one of my most memorable dives ever (read about my dive here).

To get to Nusa Lembongan & Nusa Ceningan we booked a trip with Rocky Fast Cruises which was an easy company to book with. The boat departs from Sanur, and from there it is a 30 minute boat ride to Nusa Lembongan. We had a good experience with this operator as they fulfilled everything we paid for and they were prompt. There are several other operators in the area that you can go with, however I chose Rocky Fast Cruises due to reading several positive reviews online.
“One of the highlights of our trip was exploring these islands on a scooter and seeking out empty beaches.”

For $36 USD round-trip per person we not only got the ferry rides from Sanur but it also included a pick-up from our hotel in Pecatu and drop off at our hotel in Nusa Lembongan plus pick up at our hotel in Nusa Lembongan and a drop off in Ubud near our hotel for our return. I must note that Ubud is very far from Sanur so they will take you to Ubud and drop you off in town, however if you want to go to your hotel it’s an additional cost. The free pick-up and drop-off covers most areas in Bali including the airport, however you will want to double check their website to make sure your area is covered. Also, the car that was scheduled to pick us up from our hotel in Pecatu and take us to the ferry broke down; but the Rocky staff handled it perfectly. They called our hotel and notified the receptionist to have us take a cab and they would pay for it; and they did just that! No stress at all.
Rocky’s offers trips from Sanur to Nusa Lembongan daily, with ferries departing at 10 AM, 12 Noon, 2 PM and 5:30 PM. Ferries drop you off at the beach in Nusa Lembongan and then the shuttles take you to your accommodation. We ended up renting scooters right where the ferry dropped us off, so we didn’t take advantage of the shuttle to our hotel as the scooters were extremely convenient. (Read my post about renting scooters in Bali here). Ferries run from Nusa Lembongan to Sanur daily at 9 AM, 11 AM, 1 PM and 4:30 PM.
