WHERE TO STAY IN BALI ON ANY BUDGET

Bali has some amazing hotels, villas, and B&Bs at any price range. These are some of my favorites.

My partner and I planned a trip to Bali for Christmas as a relaxing getaway; a place to chill by the beach and do some scuba diving on the side. We had seen so many gorgeous photos and heard how wonderful Bali was, but our only expectations going on this trip were beautiful beaches and good weather.
“Accomodation in Bali is unique in the sense that you can find a gorgeous property at any price, from lovely, inexpensive home-stays to a your own pricey private villa with a chef, the options are limitless.”
- Lindsey Farrah
We fell in love with Bali for so many more reasons than just their beaches and sea life. We were blown away by the Balinese culture and all of the natural beauty on this stunning island. Thinking about visiting Bali? Check out the Top Ten Reasons to Visit Bali.

Something I love about Bali is that accomodation ranges from extremely low budget all the way up to the budget of a royalty. If you can’t decide where to stay, these are some accommodation options for you no matter what budget you’re working with. These recommendations are hotels I have either stayed at or researched using my favourite review website, TripAdvisor. I only included hotels which had 5/5 Bubbles by many reviewers, and I also vertted through Instagram photos, reviews and more to make sure these properties are places I would stay myself.

Pecatu/ Uluwatu Area

Sal’s Secret Spot

  • Cost: $100 USD per night
  • Sal’s Secret Spot is an adorable, locally run boutique hotel located in Pecatu, which is a small village right next to Uluwatu. What initially drew me to Sal’s was their eco-chic, bohemian decor and their quiet location. We really enjoyed our stay here, and the highlights of our stay were views and the staff.
  • The actual property itself is so unique and beautiful. I am in love with eco-chic, bohemian style decor so I could not get enough of it. There are locally made statues throughout the property that are carved from wood, and gorgeous, locally made tables as well as other unique accents throughout the entire property. Sal’s was deco heaven for me and I got a ton of inspiration from this property.
  • Definitely book an ocean view room if you can, as the views of the beach are stunning.

Nusa Lembongan/Nusa Ceningan

Tigerlily’s Boutique Hotel

  • Cost: $105 USD per night
  • Tigerlily’s is the epitome of what you imagine when you escape to beautiful Bali. Tigerlily's was hands down our favourite resort while visiting Bali, and there’s a ton of reasons why. This property embraced everything I look for in a hotel; it was cozy, eco-chic, small, the property was gorgeous, the staff was lovely and I felt like I could’ve stayed forever. It was just very special and unique!

Le Pirate

  • Cost: $49 USD per night
  • This waterfront hotel located on Nusa Ceningan is comprised of small villas, each equipped with a personal hammock on your front porch. We checked this place out and they offer delicious food and also feature a stunning pool overlooking the crystal clear blue water. Rooms are small but with a view like that- how much space do you need? This hotel is located on Nusa Ceningan, which is located just over the yellow bridge, about a 15 minute ride from where the ferry drops you off in Nusa Lembongan. They aren’t located on a beach, but you can take a ladder right into the water.

Calma Ubud

  • Cost: $111 USD per night
  • Calma Ubud is something special because they have found a way to have an eco-chic property that is equally chic as it is eco. It’s a gorgeous hotel with all the amenities you would ever need, located in a small village, overlooking a rice terrace. It was absolute heaven.
  • We loved this property because it was pristine and offered everything we needed; from delicious dining to amazing massages right next to a babbling brook. It’s also very convenient as it’s only a ten minute scooter ride to downtown Ubud.

Hati Padi Cottages

  • Cost: $40 USD per night
  • This lovely property is meant for travellers who are looking for a more rustic, remote experience.
  • Hati Padi is located pretty far from Ubud, about 30 minutes away. It’s located within a small village that owns and runs Hati Padi. So, we found this aspect of the hotel to be pretty special.
  • The villas on the property were once home that have been renovated and turned into the villas that now make up Hadi Pati. There is a lovely pool in the middle of the property which overlooks a lush rice terrace. Every morning while we enjoyed our coffees we were able to see people go out into the rice terrace and start their day of work. Read all about Hati Padi Cottages here.
